SCHEDULE CHANGE: In contrast to previous messaging, due to a schedule conflict, the 8th graders and Seniors will be honored with their academic awards on May 11th at 10am at the JH/HS Academic Awards Assembly. Also during the ceremony, Senior Signing Day will be conducted. We just missed you so much, we needed to see you just one last time! Looking forward to honoring our students!
We are sooooo close to meeting our goal at the elementary book fair this year. The buy one, get one free book fair will be open today. We will be open 8:30 - 9:30, 11:45 - 1:30, and after play day until everyone has had a chance to shop. We are so grateful for your support!

Elementary Book Fair News!!! We will be able to have the book fair open on Monday. To accommodate all of the activities we have planned our schedule for Monday is as follows:

Due to the rain forecasted for tonight elementary play day is being moved to Monday, May 9th. Lunches will still start at 10:45 AM and events will start at 1:00 PM.
SCHEDULE CHANGE: Tomorrow's scheduled JH LCL track meet at Madison has been postponed due to weather. It has been rescheduled for Friday, May 6th at 10:30am. With that change, previously scheduled items on that date at the JH/HS will be rescheduled. Now on Friday, 8th graders will practice for graduation at 8am and Seniors will practice at 9am. Awards for 8th graders and Seniors will be presented at graduation. The awards assembly for underclassmen will now occur on Wednesday, May 11th at 10am. The previously scheduled 8th grade field trip will now occur on Thursday, May 12th. All items have been updated via the district calendar. Questions? Please call the JH/HS office at 785-549-3313.
USD 456 is proud to introduce our newest staff member, Crystal Hoffman. Mrs. Hoffman will be joining our elementary staff in the fall. Please give her a very warm MdCV welcome.

The book fair is a great way to stock up on books for summer reading.
JH and HS summer practice and conditioning schedule has been set. Remember you play like you practice and practice how you play.
The high school track meet scheduled for today at Burlingame has been cancelled and will not be rescheduled.
We are a day late but better late than never! Happy National Principal Day to Mr. Sample and Ms. Wollenberg! Thank you for all that you do for our kiddos.
REMINDER: On May 6th, the JH/HS will conduct their end-of-the-year academic awards ceremonies. The HS is at 9am and the JH is at 10am, in the big gym. New this year will be a "Signing Day" event for our seniors during the HS ceremony. The public is invited to attend.
Don't forget the elementary carnival is tomorrow, Saturday, April 30. AM Preschool, Kindergarten, First and Second grades' session will be 9:30 - 11:00. PM Preschool, Third, Fourth, and Fifth grades' session will be 11:30-1:00.

May 2 - Open after reading trip until 4:30 PM
May 3 - During School Only
May 4 - 7:10 AM - 7:45 AM, During School
May 5 - During school, 3:40 - 4:30 PM
May 6 - 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM and After elementary play day

Tonight is the last performance of the elementary musical Yee-Haw. Fourth & Fifth graders should arrive at 6:30, K-3 should arrive at 6:45. Program begins at 7:00 PM. The program will be live streamed on our Facebook page for those unable to attend.
The annual elementary carnival is Saturday. We will have two sessions again this year.
