Today, July 15, 2020, USD 456 received notification that Governor Laura Kelly will be issuing an executive order delaying the start of schools until after Labor Day. The district is currently preparing for the start of school and will continue to monitor this new development. Information and plans will communicated as soon as possible. At this time, summer activities and programs are not affected.

Attention JH/HS athletes! If you have not gotten your physical yet for the upcoming school year, Osage Sports & Family Chiropractic will be coming to MDCV on July 23rd, 2020 - 8:00am-11:30am in the main gym. Physicals will be $10, payable upon arrival - first come, first served. If you would like to print and fill out the necessary paperwork beforehand, please follow this link:

Don't forget - physicals are REQUIRED to be able to participate in ANY school-sponsored athletics. See you there!

After consulting with the Osage County Health Department, we have been given the all-clear to resume summer athletic activities and conditioning, beginning tomorrow, July 16, 2020. As always, we encourage our students and visitors to practice good hygiene and remain home if feeling ill. Thank you for your assistance.

On Saturday, July 11, 2020, school administration was made aware that a group of students were exposed to an individual outside the school district who later tested positive for COVID-19. Those potentially exposed students then attended summer conditioning on Thursday and Friday. Out of an abundance of caution, all summer conditioning/workouts have been postponed until Thursday, July 16, 2020. By that time, county health departments will have had the opportunity to perform contact tracing, fully inform the individuals involved and more conclusive information will be available to make potential further decisions. We appreciate your understanding and will continue to keep you updated as much as possible.

The Board of Education has posted the July meeting agenda. The meeting will be held at the Melvern commons and open to the public.
