Happy Custodial Workers Day!

Today, September 30th, 2020, marks the last day of service for Dale Dennis, Deputy Commissioner for the Kansas Department of Education.
Mr. Dennis is retiring after a long and distinguished education career within the state of Kansas. He began his career in 1959 as a classroom teacher, became a school administrator in 1965, and then began his tenure overseeing education finance at KSDE in 1967. Since then, he has dutifully served the state of Kansas, its' students, parents, and staff members for 53 years, supervising the administration of $5 billion in state and federal funds annually. In this role, with the appropriate administration of funding, he has continuously advocated for an effective, equitable, and beneficial education system that can impact all students, whether urban, suburban or rural.
It is difficult to fully convey or encompass the impact Mr. Dennis has had on the state of Kansas and its' education system, but if you or your student has learned ABCs in a kindergartener, developed Algebra skills as a 8th grader, or mastered welds as a senior, all within Kansas classrooms, then Dale Dennis has had an impact upon you.
As declared by the Governor, today marks Dale Dennis Day within the state of Kansas and USD 456 - Marais des Cygnes Valley is proud to celebrate a man who has done so much for its' community. Dale Dennis is once in a generation leader and we are incredibly grateful for his service.
Enjoy retirement Mr. Dennis, you have earned it.
