The Lady Trojans are heading to state!
Marais des Cygnes Valley captured the Class 1A Division II sub-state volleyball championship on Saturday, October 24, in Melvern, winning both matches in straight sets to punch their ticket to the state tournament.
MdCV opened the afternoon with a commanding victory over South Haven, winning 25–5 and 25–11. The Trojans then faced Lyon County League opponent Lebo in the championship match, securing the sub-state title with a 25–16, 25–22 victory.
The two wins send MdCV into state competition with a 34–6 record—a season our students, families, and community can be proud of.
This championship is a moment to celebrate every player and the coaches who have helped this team reach its goals. The time spent in practice, the willingness to keep improving, and the commitment to one another all matter. Earning a trip to state is an accomplishment these girls will carry with them long after the season ends.
Thank you to our families, students, staff, and Trojan fans for supporting this team throughout the season and helping make sub-state at home a special experience. There is something special about seeing our community come together to cheer on our kids!
The Lady Trojans will compete in the Class 1A Division II State Volleyball Tournament on October 30–31 at White Auditorium in Emporia. Pool play takes place Friday, with advancing teams returning Saturday for the semifinals and medal matches. We will share MdCV’s match schedule and additional fan information once those details are available.
Congratulations, Lady Trojans and coaches! Enjoy this accomplishment—you have earned it. Now, let’s take that Trojan pride to Emporia!
Go Trojans! 💙🏐🧡
