Blue and orange, familiar faces, and a week of Trojan pride—Homecoming is here! Marais des Cygnes Valley will celebrate September 19–27 with the theme “There’s No Place Like Homecoming,” bringing students, families, alumni, and our community together.
Congratulations to our 2026 Homecoming royalty, pictured above! We look forward to recognizing these students during the crowning ceremony on Friday, September 25, at 6:30 p.m., followed by the Trojans’ football game against Lost Springs-Centre at 7:00 p.m. in Melvern.
The celebration begins Saturday, September 19, with The Wizard of Oz on the football field at 9:00 p.m. Everyone is invited! Students will decorate downtown windows Sunday, September 20, at 2:00 p.m., adding Trojan spirit throughout our community. Monday’s activities include a bonfire at Melvern Park beginning at 6:30 p.m., with games, hot dogs, and s’mores.
Throughout the school week, students and staff can join these themed dress-up days:
- Monday, September 21 — The Great and Powerful Oz: Dress like your favorite teacher or coach.
- Tuesday, September 22 — Follow the Yellow Brick Road: Wear yellow.
- Wednesday, September 23 — A Walk in the Poppies: Wear pajamas.
- Thursday, September 24 — Which Witch Is Which?: Twin Day.
- Friday, September 25 — There’s No Place Like MdCV: Wear blue and orange.
Friday’s school-day celebration includes a pep rally at 3:00 p.m. That evening, we invite families, alumni, and Trojan fans to arrive early for the crowning ceremony and stay to cheer on our football team. Game admission is $6 for adults and $4 for students, with a $20 maximum per immediate family.
The Homecoming dance will take place Saturday, September 26, from 8:00–10:00 p.m. Freshmen and sophomores are asked to bring snacks, while juniors and seniors should bring drinks for admission. Students bringing an out-of-school guest should complete the required sign-up and referral form through the office. Downtown window cleanup will wrap up the week Sunday, September 27, at 2:00 p.m.
Thank you to our Student Council, Mrs. Reeser, Mr. Graf, and everyone helping make this week special for our students. Homecoming is about more than a game or a crown—it is a chance to celebrate the people and traditions that make our school feel like home.
