Think Before You Post

MdCV JH/HS students participated in a special presentation titled “Think Before You Post: The Power of Social Media,” led by Chet Kuplen of Sports in Kansas.

Kuplen spoke with students about the tremendous opportunities social media provides, as well as the responsibility that comes with every post, comment, picture, and share. Students were reminded that their online decisions can have a lasting impact on their reputation, relationships, education, and future employment opportunities.

The presentation encouraged students to pause before posting, communicate respectfully, protect their personal information, and use their online presence to make a positive difference. Kuplen also challenged students to remember that they represent themselves, their families, their school, and their community—both in person and online.

In a world where one click can reach hundreds or even thousands of people, this was an important and timely message for our students. Learning to navigate social media responsibly is an essential part of preparing students for success beyond the classroom.

We appreciate Chet Kuplen, Sports in Kansas, and Watco for bringing this valuable presentation to MdCV JH/HS and investing in the future of our students. A special thank you to the FFA alumni and the FFA for sponsoring the presentation!

Think before you click. Think before you share. Most importantly, think before you post.
