USD 456 - Marais des Cygnes Valley is proud to announce that it is embarking on a refined mission to focus its efforts on academics, graduation, and postsecondary success. Titled the “Trinity Project,” the district is making the commitment to provide the opportunity for all graduates to fulfill one of three specific outcomes upon graduation:

  • Workforce - Obtain a job placement of $20 per hour
  • Technical - Achieve a technical degree or certification
  • Postsecondary - Complete 12 college credit hours

Corresponding with the district's "We Believe" statements, detailed HERE, the three outcomes described within the Trinity Project are aimed at specifically identifying what the goal area of Postsecondary Success ultimately looks like as students are graduating from our high school.

Additionally, it is viewed that the goals from the "Trinity Project" will aid district efforts regarding the High School Graduation, Individual Plans of Study, ACT Success, and Academic Growth goal areas. To view the full district action plan for the 2023-2024 school year, go HERE.

Ultimately, the three outcomes identified within the "Trinity Project" allow our district staff to direct students to what potential pathways exist for students as they graduate. Staff can use the "Trinity Project" outcomes to:

  • Provide clarity when creating individual plans of study.
  • Drive decision-making when determining course selections.
  • Organize options when considering postsecondary pathways.
  • Create value for post-graduation careers outside of college attendance.
  • Focus outcomes related to in-house career and technical courses.
  • Extend relevance to primary grades and potential career opportunities.
  • Promote technical degree opportunities available during high school.
  • Establish extrinsic motivation within multiple aspects of the school day.

Overall, in order to meet our refined vision, district staff will need to continue to enhance academic success, expertly maintain individual plans of study and graduate students at a high level so that we are all ensuring the outcomes of the "Trinity Project," ultimately creating postsecondary success for every student.
