I have been employed by Marais des Cygnes Valley since 1981.

Throughout the years I have taught in many classrooms. They include 2nd, 4th and 5th grades as well as Middle School Social Studies, Math and Language Arts. Currently I am at the elementary level teaching 3rd - 5th science and 4th - 5th language arts/writing, as well as MTSS reading and math groups.

I think the biggest change I have seen is the use of technology in the classroom. It is awesome how the children are NOT afraid to use computers, ipads and other digital equipment.

I have been teaching at MdCV for so long that I am now colleagues of some of my former students as well as teaching the children of former students. It is a real joy seeing some of the same character traits and personalities in my current students as was in their parents.

I have been married to my husband, Greg for 33 years. We have 2 children that we are very proud of. Scot is a graduate of KSU and is employed by the Lyon County Appraisers office in Emporia. Josh will be finishing his last year at KU and graduating in May of 2015 majoring in Sports Management.
