|A Little About Me||
I am from Onaga, KS and graduated from Onaga High School in 2002. Some may wonder how I ended up here at MdCV. Well, here is my story.
Right out of high school, and for probably a year and a half after graduation, I really didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life. Since I was offered an academic scholarship to Highland Community College I figured I might as well go to school for free. And since two of my high school classmates were playing football there I figured I would try that too. So I played football one year, attended class for three semesters, and then decided to go where I always wanted to go…Kansas State University.
My strengths in school were math, and later realized science, and with my future still unclear, I decided to go into Civil Engineering (mainly because I heard engineers made a good salary). I spent 4 more terrific years in college but came to the realization that engineering wasn’t for me. So, after graduation I worked in construction management for a company based out of Arizona. I worked in that capacity for 2.5 years and lived in Arizona and New Jersey, while visiting many other states in-between. While the experiences I gained during this time were priceless, I was pretty sure I hadn’t found my true calling.
Between starting a relationship with my wife, realizing my desire to go into the family business (both my brothers are teachers and my dad was a teacher/guidance counselor for almost 30 years), and never losing my adoration for physics, I made the decision to go back to school to become a teacher. I went back to my alma mater to become a teacher, and well, here I am today. I've been here since 2013-2014.
My wife, Kylie Baxter, and I live in Osage City.
