Meet Deborah Stukey
August 15, 2011
Hello! I am excited to be a part of the education team at Marais des Cygnes Valley. This is my third year as the 6-12 Counselor at MDCV. I previously worked for 10 years as a high school counselor at Jefferson West H.S. in Meriden, KS. Prior to that, I taught social studies at Washburn Rural H.S. in Topeka.
I earned my bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University in History Education, then my master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Kansas. However, sorry KU fans, but my loyalties do lie with K-State, as I competed on the KSU Track & Field team during my time there. :)
My husband is Michael Stukey, and I have two stepsons, Lincoln (high school sophomore) and Dalton (7th grader), who keep us very busy with all of their activities.
Although I was born in Dodge City, I mostly grew up in Barnes, KS, and went to school in Hanover from 3rd grade through high school. My parents and my two sisters and their families still live in Hanover. I also have a brother who lives with his family in Topeka, and another brother who lives with his family in Tulsa, OK.
Again, I am very excited to be a part of the MDCV school district, and please don’t hesitate to contact me!
