Similar to the football event of Homecoming, Queen of Courts is an annual high school celebration during basketball season.
Cheerleaders sponsor a Spirit Week, which precedes the anticipated Queen of Courts coronation and game on Friday night. Specially designated Spirit Week days, which are intended to raise spirit and interest, consisted of the following: Tuesday, Dress Up Day;  Wednesday, Senior Citizen or Retirement Day, where students tried to look and act like grandparents or someone in their golden years; Thursday, Mismatch Day, with stripes, plaids, polka dots, and odd concoctions of colors making a wild, acceptable fashion statement; and Friday, the traditional Orange and Blue Day, when students showed their school pride by wearing school colors.
On Friday, February 3, the Queen of Courts basketball game schedule began at 5:00 p.m.  Seniors Austin Case and Taylor Schimmel were announced as the 2012 King and Queen of Courts during halftime of the varsity boys' game.
. A semi-formal winter dance, sponsored by Student Council, was held on Saturday, February 4, from 8-11 p.m. at the Melvern Community Center. The theme song for the event was“ Enchanted” by Taylor Swift.
